My individually handmade stick chairs are made in the style of early Welsh stick chairs. They are constructed in locally sourced hardwoods using many traditional tools and techniques. Each of my stick chairs is individual and unique.
This chair, with 6 sticks, is a little different in that the arms stop at the first tall stick so giving an uninterupted line from seat to crest. The octagonal legs are of Oak, the arms, crest and finely shaped seat are Elm and the sticks are Ash, the contrasting wedged joints showing the skill of the craftsman. As with all my stick chairs attention to detail ensures a comfortable and aesthetically pleasing addition to any home that will pass on down through the generations.
This chair is handmade to order with a lead time of 3-4 weeks subject to timber availability.quoted includes all postage and packaging
Dimensions: seat H18" arm H27" overall H461/2" - all sizes are approx. to ½”
As my chairs are all individually handcrafted I would recommend that you collect your chair in person to ensure that it is comfortable and suits your personal requirements. In the event that this is not possible a courier can be arranged at their then charges.
My interest in early Celtic country chairs developed over the years during my time spent living and working in Ireland, England and Wales; I have now settled back in England to continue my craft from my workshop in Shropshire. My hope is that my handcrafted chairs will bring as much pleasure to you, the new owner, as I had in the making of them.
