This amazing, very individual chair, known as a 'curule' chair, comes from a design which dates back to Roman times, the word 'curule' being an old Roman word for chariot. They were originally for the use of persons of high status and were embelished with ivory and precious metals.
More practically, I have handmade this unique chair all in solid Oak with cow hide seat and back, finished with decorative studs.
These remarkably handsome chairs, now very rarely seen, are not only decorative but also extremely comfortable and make a statement piece that will last a lifetime and become an antique of the future.
I make this chair to order with a lead time of 6-8 weeks subject to timber and cow hide availability. Please contact me if you have any queries regarding this chair as it is out of the norm and may raise a few questions. I would also recommend that you arrange to collect this chair in person although a courier can be arranged at their then charges if you prefer.
