My traditional handmade stick chairs are individually crafted in the style of early Welsh stick chairs, constucted of locally sourced hardwood and made using traditional tools and techniques. Each of my stick chairs is individual and unique.
This country chair is of sturdy design and construction, having a timelessness that will give endless pleasure through the generations. It has octagonal Oak legs, a finely shaped Elm seat, arms and crest, and Ash sticks. The unusual front arm support is hand shaped, also in Oak. As with all my chairs attention to detail ensures a comfortable, aesthetically pleasing addition to any home.
I make this chair to order with a lead time of 4 - 5 weeks.
As my chairs are individually handcrafted I would recommend that you collect your chair in person to ensure that it is comfortable and suits your personal requirements. In the event that this is not possible a courier can be arranged at their then charges.
Dimensions: seat H18" arm H27" overall H52" - all sizes are approx. to ½”.
My interest in early Celtic country chairs developed over the years during my time spent living and working in Ireland, England and Wales; I have now settled back in England to continue my craft from my workshop in Shropshire. My hope is that my handcrafted chairs will bring as much pleasure to you, the new owner, as I had in the making of them.
